This brings Teaching Channel, a one-stop shop for teacher learning and development, to the forefront.
Teaching Channel provides individual teachers, school administrators, and district leaders with graduate-level continuing education and professional development courses, a thought-provoking video platform, and an abundance of classroom tools and resources. Courses offer credits or clock hours per state requirements and help teachers renew licenses, advance on salary schedules, and excel in their careers. Course offerings include today's education hot topics, including mental wellness, IEP's, and technology, while equipping the educator to better meet the expectations of multiple stakeholders such as parents, district leaders, and students.
K-12 and higher education institutions often find it daunting to create unique and customized learning pathways for their teachers with diverse goals and interests and help them stay up-to-date with the latest educational trends and techniques. With over 300 graduate-level courses spanning wide-ranging topics like music, math, and English, it provides a solution to meet individual development needs and interests.
Teaching Channel’s one-of-a-kind ENGAGE Video Library offers over 1,500 videos of leading teachers with decades of experience demonstrating their techniques. The team has visited schools and districts from coast to coast to capture authentic footage of a classroom to enable an aspiring, new, or experienced teacher to improve classroom behavior strategies and learn creative ways to interact with and engage students. By learning and emulating the best teaching methods, teachers can drive student achievement.
The ENGAGE Video Coaching platform allows teachers to upload videos, share them for feedback with other teachers, mentors, instructors, and selfreflect. Video creates instant replay for both the teacher and observer, enabling quick, convenient, and practical feedback that allows educators to adjust and improve their teaching the very next day in the classroom.
A stellar testimonial by Kevin Eakes, Ph.D., assistant dean, assessment and professional practice school of education, health and human performance, College of Charleston, reads, "The robust repository of teaching videos was the first attraction to Teaching Channel. Name a subject, grade level, or instructional approach, and Teaching Channel has a resource."

Description
Teaching Channel is a learning platform that empowers educators to be their very best in the classroom while providing school leaders with a comprehensive range of professional development solutions. Teaching Channel works closely with districts, charter networks, state education agencies, and higher ed schools of education to design custom solutions for their greatest learning and development needs enabling teachers to thrive and perform at their best in the classroom so their students can, too.
EAGAN, Minnesota - Teaching Channel, a prominent provider of online professional learning resources for educators, has unveiled the new Teaching Channel Platform, which serves as a unified hub for meeting the professional development needs of K-12 and higher education teachers. This innovative platform not only includes Teaching Channel's renowned video library but also offers an array of tools designed to facilitate video-based self-reflection and peer feedback through professional learning communities (PLCs) and teacher cohorts. It provides both informal and formal instructional and coaching support, along with streamlined workflows, granting access to professional development opportunities and a collection of over 1,600 exemplary videos filmed in classrooms across the United States.
Don Rescigno, Managing Director of Teaching Channel, stated, "As lifelong learners, educators understand that the continuous growth of students relies on supporting the professional development of teachers. We take pride in offering a comprehensive platform dedicated to the growth of teachers, mentors, coaches, and leaders, which is as robust as their commitment to student success."
The Resource Center within the new platform presents the Teaching Channel Library, housing more than 1,600 exemplary videos, along with supplementary materials to aid educators in observing and learning various teaching strategies, instructional coaching techniques, and leadership insights. Educators have the flexibility to create playlists, mark favorite videos, or access curated playlists prepared by the Teaching Channel team. Additionally, institutions can utilize their own Account Library to collect and upload exemplary videos, links, lesson plans, and other valuable resources.
The Teaching Channel Platform's Activity Center serves as a centralized location where educators can:
• Create and organize all their coaching activities.
• Upload videos for reflection, peer feedback, utilization in PLCs, and coaching.
• Reflect on and share videos from the Teaching Channel or account libraries with peers, observers, and school leaders to foster rich discussions.
Mike Smith, President of Teaching Channel, commented, "Educators are constantly preparing students for an ever-changing future, and their time is too valuable to be spent searching for the right materials and tools to enhance their own professional development. This is why we have developed a platform that provides the necessary resources to facilitate professional development coordination and pursuit throughout their school or district."
The platform's extensive range of tools empowers educators to:
• Establish and participate in PLCs.
• Conduct in-person observations.
• Calibrate for observation by engaging in personalized video-based training and assessment experiences.
• Incorporate notes or questions for future reference or to provide context for observers.
• Add documents for future reference.
• Identify areas of focus to take control of their professional development.
The Resource and Activity Centers are designed to work together, catering to a broad spectrum of stakeholders. Recording and sharing PLC meetings allows district-level personnel to enhance district alignment to ensure effectiveness and alignment with goals. The Teaching Channel Platform also assists coaches and administrators in building their capacity and leadership skills, while supporting administrators in conducting formal or informal observations by reviewing videos that teachers have created and uploaded to the platform. Lead teachers can generate sample video lessons for distribution through the resource center to inform the lessons that other teachers will share via platform workflows. A dashboard facilitates easy access to recent statistics, updates, to-do lists, changes to the Teaching Channel video library, and notifications. Reports are available for both administrators and individual educators, offering comprehensive data on general usage, videos watched, educator growth, and calibration and educator growth trends over time.
Dr. Errick L. Green, the Superintendent of Jackson Public Schools in Mississippi, remarked, "Our district has experienced clear and measurable benefits from the use of video coaching and exemplar videos. It has helped our teachers and instructional leaders improve their practice, which has led to improved student outcomes. We look forward to continuing our collaboration with Teaching Channel."
Additional features are set to be introduced throughout the 2023–2024 school year. For more information and the opportunity to explore the Teaching Channel Platform through a demo, please visit TeachingChannel.com.
