| | OCTOBER 20206EditorialWith an increasing number of states, provinces, and even whole countries closing educational institutions to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic, almost 70% of the world's students are not attending school. Since the pandemic has disrupted people's typical lifestyle across the globe, the virtual world has come to the rescue. Amongst many institutions, schools have also shifted their base to virtual platforms to conduct classes online. Accordingly, various stakeholders across government and private organizations try their best to assist each other by sprucing up their existing online platforms and apps and providing training to teachers to use these apps and platforms to the optimum level. So far, efforts are being made by both government and non-government organizations and edtech companies to support the school system to make a smooth transition to the virtual world. Distance and Remote Learning has supported educational bodies to establish robust distance teaching institutions and build competencies for quality online learning practices. Over the years, it has created many resources, including courses, policy briefs, how-to toolkits, and guidelines on online learning and related areas that are downloadable for use by policymakers, teachers, and researchers worldwide. In these unprecedented times, such EdTechs can support learning in the non-formal and informal sectors and the formal education sector. Our editorial team has curated a list for policymakers, school, and college administrators, teachers, parents, and learners to assist with student learning during the closure of educational institutions. Most of these are available as open educational resources with different licenses. It is imperative for all organizations to thoroughly research and understand in-depth about the different products available in the market. We hope this edition of Education Technology Insights will help organizations make the right decision for their digital transformation strategies.Let us know your thoughts!EdTech for AllCopyright © 2020 ValleyMedia Inc., All rights reserved.
