| | August - 20206EditorialOwing to the ever-increasing technological advancements, the traditional means of imparting knowledge has shifted from the chalk and a black board to interactive touchscreens and video lessons. The rise of innovative technologies such as smart glasses and smart watches, as well as AR/VR tools are further aiding teachers to turn their classrooms into an immersive environment that ensures better information retention. At the same time, the implementation of learning management systems (LMS) in educational facilities allows teachers to leverage various delivery avenues (text, voice, video) and offer students with the required knowledge in the best-suited way.Today, as Covid-19 has pushed students and educators into their homes, the overall education space has turned their sights toward the development of solutions that facilitate remote learning and testing. Video conferencing applications such as Zoom, among others has seen a meteoric rise since the sudden closure of educational institutes, with great success in helping teachers and students continue the completion of their curriculums. At the same time, the overall education technology space is coming together to facilitate the development of effectively curated remote, online, and distance learning resources and other EdTech avenues to enhance the learning experience of students stuck at home. K-12 learning is now set to transform into a seemingly informal and specialized learning medium that allows students to learn new concepts in an engaging manner, thereby ensuring maximum retention. On the other hand, teachers will also be highly trained and extremely technology compliant to further aid students in making the most of their learning experiences. To assist educational institutions in leveraging new technologies, the upcoming edition of Education Technology Insights features a list of leading K-12 technology vendors along with insightful articles from thought leaders in the educational technology arena.Let us know your thoughts. The Rise of E-LearningTina RosenEditor-in-Chieftina@educationtechnologyinsights.comCopyright © 2020 ValleyMedia Inc., All rights reserved.
